31-year-old man killed in shooting in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WIAT) – Birmingham police are investigating a homicide after a 31-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning.

According to BPD, officers were dispatched to a gunshot detection call in the 500 block of 41st Street North. Officers were subsequently notified that a person was lying on the ground at the scene. Upon arrival, officers found Brandon Wilson, of Birmingham, lying at the intersection of 41st Street and 5th Court North with a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
