Woman dead, two children injured in accident in Lenox

LENOX, NY — A woman is dead and two children are injured in a car accident in the city of Lenox.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, it happened on May 31, 2024 at 1:24 p.m. on New Boston Road.

The driver, 35-year-old Candis Relyea, was driving her car with two children in it when it left the road, hit a power pole and a tree and finally overturned.

Relyea was seriously injured and taken to Oneida Hospital, where she died.

A six-year-old and a 15-year-old were in the vehicle; they were taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
