Chiefs WR Rashee Rice is under investigation for assault at a nightclub

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is under investigation following an alleged assault at a nightclub, according to Dallas police.

According to local ABC affiliate WFAA, authorities are currently interviewing witnesses who say Rice, 23, allegedly hit a photographer in Lit Kitchen early Monday.

A man was hospitalized with “visible swelling on one side of his face” and non-life-threatening injuries, a police spokesman told The Dallas Morning News.

Rice is currently charged in a March hit-and-run accident in Dallas in which his Lamborghini crashed into his friend’s Corvette at 119 miles per hour, resulting in a six-car pileup and at least four injuries. The video also showed Rice and others leaving the scene.

Rice turned himself in to police in early April and was placed on $40,000 bail after being charged with six counts of collision causing bodily harm, one collision causing great bodily harm and one count of aggravated assault.

Two of the accident victims have also filed a civil lawsuit against Rice.

Rice, who played college football for Southern Methodist University in the city, managed 79 receptions and caught seven touchdowns in his rookie season for the Super Bowl-winning Chiefs. He reportedly faces a multi-game suspension for the car accident.
