UP school teacher suspended for making indecent remarks about PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath

Kaushambi (UP):

A teacher of a government primary school in Kaushambi district was suspended on Monday after a case was filed against her for making indecent remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media.

Primary Education Officer Kamlemdra Kushwaha issued a suspension order against the teacher named Varsha.

Mr. Kushwaha said an officer had lodged a complaint with Kokhraj police station after learning about the social media post by Varsha, the principal of a government primary school in a village in Sirathu tehsil.

On Sunday evening, they were booked under Sections 153A (creating enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc. and committing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 505(2) (utterances creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill will between classes) and 295A (deliberately and maliciously committing acts with intent to hurt the religious feelings of a class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the IPC and the IT Act.

Kokhraj SHO said the police took cognizance of the incident on Sunday evening.
