Vehicle burns after accident with injuries on US 41 in Gibson County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Emergency crews are responding to a crash on U.S. 41 in Gibson County.

According to dispatch, the northbound lane of US 41 just north of I-64 is closed. According to Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven, the accident was reported just before 3 p.m.

A press release states that a maroon 2014 Chevy Cruz struck a blue 2016 Ford Fusion that was stopped in traffic. As a result of the collision, the Chevy Cruz caught fire. Officers on scene rescued the occupants of the vehicles.

According to officers on scene, one of the drivers was not breathing and had no pulse. Officers began CPR, which saved the driver until Gibson County paramedics could take over treatment.

According to officials, several serious injuries were reported in the incident.
