An accident closed two railroad crossings in Hollywood

JACKSON, Ala. (WHNT) – An accident in Hollywood, Alabama, led to the closure of two railroad crossings on Tuesday, according to authorities.

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, a Facebook post from the City of Hollywood said the railroad crossings at County Road 33 and Hurt Street were closed due to an accident.

About 50 minutes later, the crossing at County Road 33 reopened.

The fire chief has said the closure will be “protracted” and that residents will be notified when the Hurt Street intersection reopens. Motorists are asked to use alternative routes.
