Two motorcyclists killed in police chase in El Cajon

EL CAJON (CNS) – Two people trying to evade police on a motorcycle were killed when the bike collided with two vehicles in El Cajon, authorities said today.

According to El Cajon police, the accident occurred around 11:40 p.m. Saturday after officers attempted to stop a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a traffic violation at 1700 E. Main St.

β€œThe motorcycle had two occupants and fled from officers at a high rate of speed westbound on Main Street,” the department reported.

The motorcycle separated from the pursuing officer and collided with the rear of a blue Toyota Tacoma and a black Hyundai Sonata at 1300 E. Main St. The 42-year-old man driving the motorcycle and a 42-year-old female passenger were found dead on Crime scene.

The victims’ names were withheld pending notification of family members.

The occupants of the Tacoma and Sonata were uninjured and fully cooperative with the investigation, police said.
