One dead, one injured after two-vehicle collision in Toledo

According to Toledo police, the accident occurred just before 8 a.m. on Central Ave. on Detroit Ave. A 67-year-old woman from Toledo died as a result of the accident.

TOLEDO, Ohio – One person is dead and another is injured after a two-vehicle collision in downtown Toledo Saturday morning.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. on Central Avenue near Detroit Avenue. Theresa Sutton, 67, of Toledo, was driving on Central Ave. westbound and attempted to turn left onto Detroit Ave. to turn off. According to Toledo police, Sutton’s vehicle then collided with a vehicle that was traveling on Central Ave. headed east.

Sutton was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified by police as 35-year-old Rarmon Parker of Toledo, was also injured in the crash. According to police, Parker was taken by private transport to an undisclosed hospital. It is unclear what Parker’s current condition may be.

A police report states that an arrest and charges are pending, but no further information has been released at this time.

The accident remains under investigation by Toledo Police.
