2 suspects arrested after break-in at Red Bluff elementary school | Crime

RED BLUFF, California. – Two suspects were arrested Sunday after Metteer Elementary School in Red Bluff was broken into Saturday morning, police said.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a call at the elementary school (695 Kimball Road) because a burglar alarm had gone off in the school’s office, Red Bluff police said.

Officers discovered that the school office had been broken into.

By analyzing surveillance footage, police were able to identify the suspects as 19-year-olds Logan Hayes and Richard Ilzarbe.

The two suspects were spotted by police patrolling outside the Days Inn and Suites at 5 Sutter Street around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Hayes and Ilzarbe were arrested without incident and police received full confessions from both, the RBPD said.

They were arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on charges of burglary and criminal conspiracy.
