Washington woman arrested on abuse allegations | KCII Radio

On Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested an individual on Washington County warrants. They arrested 59-year-old Bobbie Smith of Washington on three counts of abuse of dependent adult, all Class C felonies. According to court documents, the victim had been in Smith’s care since January 28, 2024. While at the Washington County Hospital, it was reported that the victim was severely dehydrated, had physical injuries, and had not received food or necessary medications. It was also noted that the victim was locked and unsupervised in areas of the home during the time she was in Smith’s care, and did not have access to food, medications, and clothing. Medical staff concluded that the medical findings were consistent with the victim’s reports of abuse and neglect, and would have caused injuries and severe discomfort. According to previous medical records and medical staff who treated the victim, her condition significantly deteriorated during the time she was in Smith’s care. Smith was taken to the Washington County Jail where she is being held on $30,000 cash bail. KCII will update you with more information as it becomes official.
