Man found shot in vehicle in unincorporated Lombard Township – NBC Chicago

A death investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death near a home in the unincorporated community of Lombard on Monday evening.

According to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of 16th Street and Meyers Road around 9:30 p.m. Monday evening.

When they arrived, officers discovered an unconscious man with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and head in a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residential building.

The man, who authorities said was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to officials, no one is in custody and it is not known whether the shooting was targeted.

The police said there was no danger to the public and that investigations were ongoing. No further information was available.
