Panchkula: Three sportspersons doing weight training at Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium in Sector 3 were attacked by 10-12 persons with swords and blunt weapons. The trio had earlier had heated arguments with the gym trainer over the weights being put at their proper place after workout. Police have registered a case. In his complaint to police by sportsperson Harender Kumar, a resident of Peer Muchhalla, the incident took place around 6.30 pm on Sunday. Fitness trainer Man Singh Chaudhary asked another sportsperson Shanky to put the weights at their proper place. Though Shanky told the trainer that he would put all the weights at their proper place after workout, the trainer behaved rudely and even threatened Shanky and another sportsperson Nuzrat. After they finished their workout, Harender along with Shanky and Nuzrat were standing outside the gym when Man Singh summoned 10-12 persons. One accused hit Harender with a stick and another accused attacked Harender with a sword. But Nuzrat intercepted the sword, which resulted in injuries. The victims were admitted to Sector 6 Civil Hospital. Police have registered a case under Sections 191(3), 190, 115(2) and 351(2) of the BNS at Sector 5 Police Station and initiated investigation in the case. tnn
