Greensboro man shot in West Cornwallis Drive apartment, police say

GREENSBORO, NC (WGHP) — A man is dead following a fatal shooting in Greensboro on Friday, according to a Greensboro Police press release.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., Greensboro Police were notified that a person had been shot and had arrived at Greensboro Fire Station 5 on Westover Terrace.


The victim said he was shot in an apartment in the 2200 block of West Cornwallis Drive, where he said there was another victim.

The victim, who went to the fire station, was taken to the hospital for treatment and released.

The second victim, identified as Christopher Bennet, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have notified next of kin.
