Buffalo man in critical condition after Shumway Street shooting

Ferry-Fillmore District officers arriving at the scene found a 34-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was rushed to Erie County Medical Center after being shot Wednesday night.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. in the first block of Shumway Street, north of William Street, a Buffalo Police Department spokesperson said in a statement Thursday.

Ferry-Fillmore District officers arriving at the scene found a 34-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.

Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said the man drove to the store and when he returned to Shumway’s residence, he was shot multiple times. Police believe he was shot while in his vehicle.

He was transported to ECMC where he underwent surgery. He is currently in the trauma intensive care unit.
