Man taken into custody after police operation near station square

A man is in custody following an incident Friday evening on West Carson Street in the Station Square area.

Police said a “possibly drunk driver” refused to get out of the vehicle.

West Carson Street between Highmark Stadium and the Smithfield Street Bridge was closed for investigation but has since reopened to traffic.

He was arrested around 9:45 p.m. According to police, he was taken to a local hospital for examination.

ATTENTION: Please avoid W. Carson Street, which is currently closed between Highmark Stadium and the Smithfield Street Bridge due to a police operation involving a possible intoxicated driver refusing to exit the vehicle.
