‘Very dangerous’ suspect found dead in Terrebonne Parish home

TERREBONNE PARISH, Louisiana (WGNO) – The search for a Houma man police considered “very dangerous” has been called off after he was found dead Wednesday, July 10.

According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, officers received anonymous information about the whereabouts of 45-year-old Gilbert “Muckus” Moses at 1 a.m. Wednesday. He was allegedly seen in the Smithridge area of ​​Chauvin near a local gym.


When officers arrived, they searched the area and a home in the 4800 block of Highway 56, but were unable to locate Moses.

Three hours later, officers responded to a call saying Moses was in her home and “unresponsive.”

Officers went to the house and found Moses’ body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on the examination, paramedics on site stated that there were “no signs of obvious trauma or foul play” at the time of his death.

Terrebonne Parish authorities say this is an ongoing investigation and information will be released as it becomes available.
