Socorro ISD trustee arrested on official oppression and other charges

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A member of the Socoro Independent School District Board of Trustees was arrested on official oppression and other related charges on Thursday, May 9, according to court records.

Pablo Barrera was charged with two counts of official oppression, four counts of obstruction of reprisals, undue influence and coercion of officials.

According to court records, Barrera was released the same day on bonds totaling $6,000.
