Young woman killed in shooting in North Central Spokane

Spokane police report that a young woman was killed early Sunday morning.

SPOKANE, Washington – The Spokane Police Department (SPD) reports that a young woman was killed in a shooting around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7.

Spokane police responded to a 911 call about a possible drive-by shooting near West Courtland Avenue in North Spokane, just west of Emerson Park.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found that a young woman had been shot.

The SPD reports that the woman died at the scene of the accident.

The investigation is being led by the Spokane Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit.

Spokane Police are asking anyone with information or video footage from the area who has not yet been contacted by investigators to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
