Two people were arrested after a pedestrian was struck in a driving rage incident in Fort Fairfield, Maine on Saturday night.
Fort Fairfield police said they responded after receiving numerous complaints about a vehicle coming out of Presque Isle at a high rate of speed around 7:30 p.m.
According to authorities, the vehicle pursued other people through side streets and stopped at a supermarket, where a verbal argument broke out between the suspect and the other people involved.
According to police, the suspect vehicle struck a pedestrian while fleeing the scene. The pedestrian was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The suspects involved in the incident, identified as 18-year-old Noah Sirois and 19-year-old Landon MacDougal, both of Presque Isle, were arrested and taken to the Aroostook County Jail.
Sirois is charged with driving under the influence, aggravated assault, terrorizing, reckless conduct with a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, hit and run, unlawful speeding and fleeing from an officer. His bail was set at $50,000.
MacDougal was charged with aggravated assault, terrorizing, reckless conduct with a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury, criminal speeding, fleeing an officer and violating conditions of release. He was held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.
