17-year-old kidnapped and raped in Rajasthan’s Sirohi, investigation underway

Jaipur, July 6 (PTI) – A 17-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by two men in a moving car in Rajasthan’s Sirohi district, police said on Saturday.

Police said they identified the accused as Vanna Ram and Dashrath.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening when the accused abducted the girl from her home and raped her in a moving car. After committing the crime, they took her back home, police said.

Based on the complaint of the victim’s family, a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the accused. The victim’s statement was also recorded by a magistrate, it said.

Efforts are on to arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway, police added. PTI AG HIG HIG
