ROME, NY — Four people were arrested following a shooting on William Street in Rome Friday morning in what police believe was a targeted incident.

According to Rome police, they were dispatched to the 500 block of William Street on a report of shots fired. During the investigation, patrol discovered several spent shell casings and a residence damaged by the gunfire.

There was someone in the house, but the person was not injured.

Four suspects were identified and later taken into custody. The suspects were an adult female, a minor female and two minor males.

Rome Police are asking people who live near the 500 block of William Street, 500 block of North Jay Street, and 600 block of West Thomas Street to check their home security cameras. If there is video footage during this time period, please notify Rome Police at (315) 339-7744.
