3 dead after shooting in Palm Springs – investigators believe it was a double murder followed by suicide

Police are investigating a shooting in Palm Springs that is believed to be a double murder-suicide.

The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon when police were dispatched to N. Indian Canyon Drive and Garnet Avenue for reports of a gunshot victim in the area, according to a statement from Palm Springs police.

When they arrived, they found a white sedan at the intersection with two dead men inside, the statement said.

Another man was found a short distance away, near the Indian Canyon Drive overpass of Freeway 10, with “self-inflicted injuries,” police said.

Neither the victims nor the suspected shooter have been identified.

“There is no further information that leads us to believe there are any suspects and it appears that the two crime scenes are related,” the police statement said.

Because the investigation is ongoing, investigators are asking anyone with additional details to contact them at (760) 778-8422.
