Illinois murder suspect arrested in Floyd County | Crime and courts

CHARLES CITY, Iowa – An Illinois murder suspect was recently arrested in northern Iowa.

According to the Charles City Police Department, officers were called to the area of ​​C Street and 7Th Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. on May 4 for a report of multiple people fighting.

Officers responded to the scene and after an investigation arrested Haniff Caldwell, 27, of Rockford, IL, on a Cook County warrant for Intentional Homicide with a Firearm and Assault.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted with this incident. No details have been released about the murder Caldwell is accused of.
