13 pilgrims, including 2 children, killed in horrific road accident on Bengaluru-Pune highway | Bengaluru

A total of 13 people were killed in a serious road accident in Karnataka’s Haveri district in the early hours of Friday, The Hindu reported. The incident is said to have taken place on the Pune-Bengaluru national highway and two children were among the dead.

According to the report, at 4 am near Gundenahalli Cross, a speeding minibus rammed into a stationary truck from behind, causing a horrific collision on the national highway. The bodies are reportedly stuck in the vehicle and the police teams are already at the spot.

All of the dead are from a single family and were reportedly on a pilgrimage. Four people sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Further details are awaited.
