Anchorage driver killed in collision with water truck, police said

According to Anchorage police, a woman died Monday afternoon when a water truck crossed the center line and collided with her car.

The accident occurred around noon in the 2800 block of Commercial Drive in Mountain View, police said in a statement.

According to police, the truck was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line and collided with a sedan traveling eastbound. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck is still on site and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Police have not yet identified the woman who was killed.

According to the statement, police are still investigating the crash, including what caused the truck driver to cross the center line. They are asking anyone who witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to call them at 3-1-1 or 907-786-8900.
