The International Institute of Buffalo offers information on summer safety

The International Institute at Buffalo offers vital information on summer safety in many ways.

The organization has published 10 summer weather preparedness pamphlets in the major languages spoken in Western New York, including:

  • Arab
  • Bengali
  • Burmese
  • Dari
  • English
  • Karen
  • Pashto
  • Somali
  • Spanish
  • Ukrainian

The pamphlets all contain general information about the weather in Western New York and what to do when it is extremely hot outside.

“Although many foreign-born Western New Yorkers come from countries with warm climates, many are not. Either way, both groups may not be aware of the impact of humidity on the weather here,” said Jennifer Rizzo-Choi, executive director of the International Institute of Buffalo. “It is also important to know what resources are available for relief from the heat. »
