Police release video of suspects wanted in connection with killing of retired Chicago police officer

Chicago Police Released Video material Saturday by two persons wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of retired CPD officer Larry Neuman in Garfield Park.

The footage, which appears to be from a security camera, shows two black men between the ages of 16 and 21 walking through an alley. One of the suspects is wearing a black hoodie and Jordan shoes, while the other is wearing a black Adidas hoodie and Jordan shoes, police said.

Neuman, 73, was shot near his home in the 4300 block of West Monroe Street late Thursday morning around 11:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. The Cook County coroner’s office ruled his death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

“Neuman worked as an explosives technician for the police department and spent his entire career protecting our city,” said Police Chief Larry Snelling. Snelling also said that in retirement, Neuman worked as a pastor and spoke out against violent crime.

Police asked anyone with information on the suspects to call Area 4 Detectives at (312) 746-8252.
