Man who attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband sentenced again in California court – faces life imprisonment

David DePape, the man who attacked Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was found guilty on five counts by a jury in a California, USA, court on Friday (June 21). He was also convicted of aggravated kidnapping, which carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The ruling comes weeks after DePape, 44, was sentenced to 30 years in prison by a federal judge following the violent attack in October 2022.

A jury in San Francisco found the 44-year-old guilty of first-degree burglary, false imprisonment, threatening a family member of a public official, aggravated kidnapping and preventing or deterring a witness by violence or threat.

In the attack in October 2022, Paul, then 83, suffered numerous injuries, including a skull fracture that left him hospitalized for nearly a week.
