DeSoto man killed in Wednesday crash on I-55 in South County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A DeSoto man was killed in a collision on Interstate 55 near Butler Hill Road in St. Louis County Wednesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 39-year-old Jimmy-Jack L. Johnson was pronounced dead at 9:48 a.m. at Mercy Hospital South.

According to the highway patrol, the accident occurred at 8:53 a.m. on northbound I-55, south of Butler Hill Road. A tractor-trailer slowed for traffic and the Ford truck Johnson was driving struck the rear of the trailer.
