Priest arrested for raping minor in Qila Sondha Singh

A cleric was arrested in Qila Sondha Singh in Punjab on Thursday for allegedly raping an underage student.

Qari Ikram, who teaches children to memorize the Quran at a mosque in Qila Sondha Singh, reportedly took the teenager to his quarters in the mosque and raped him.

The minor himself reported the rape, which led to Qari’s immediate arrest by the Hujra Shah Muqeem police.

District Police Officer (DPO) Okara said that cases of child abuse and sexual violence would not be tolerated in any way.

Numerous cases of rape are known from Pakistan, especially from the Punjab province.

This follows a disturbing incident in which a girl was gang raped within the jurisdiction of Shalimar police station in Islamabad.

The alleged gang rape took place in E-11 area under the jurisdiction of Shalimar police station. Authorities have registered a case against the accused. The victim told the police that Zeeshan, along with two friends, sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
