74-year-old Californian dead after accident in Pittsburg County | News

PITTSBURG COUNTY, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said 74-year-old Charles Howe Jr. of California died Thursday at the scene of a two-vehicle crash less than two miles south of McAlester.

According to OHP, the accident occurred around 2 p.m. on US-69 in Pittsburg County.

According to authorities, Howe failed to pay attention to oncoming traffic, causing another vehicle traveling north to collide with him.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was taken to a hospital in McAlester, but has since been treated and released.
