Man dead after pedestrian accident in Rockville

A man died Wednesday morning in Montgomery County, Maryland, after he was struck and killed by a vehicle, police said.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Montgomery County firefighters and Montgomery County police officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck on the west side of Norbeck Road between Georgia Avenue and Muncaster Mill Road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The attacking vehicle remained at the scene of the accident and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Both the east and west sides of the road were initially closed. All lanes were reopened around 10 a.m

Montgomery County police have asked anyone with information to contact the department.
