Colorado State Patrol releases details of YouTuber Comistorian’s fatal car crash

Just days after the death of YouTuber Ben “Comicstorian” Potter, the Colorado State Patrol has released details about his fatal car accident.

On June 10, 2024, Potter’s wife Nathalie announced that the YouTuber had died two days earlier in a “regrettable accident”.

On June 12, 2024, the Colorado State Patrol shared details of the accident and announced that it was a one-car crash. Potter was driving his vehicle on the highway when he left the right shoulder lane, crossed the access road, and rolled over several times.

According to police, the YouTuber was wearing a seatbelt and was the only person in the vehicle. He was also the only one involved in the accident.

Potter launched his YouTube channel in 2014 under the brand “Comicstorian” and has amassed over three million subscribers in the years since.

In her statement, Nathalie said that the team behind the channel and herself would work to preserve his legacy for the foreseeable future.

“His channel was one of his greatest achievements, and while we all need our time to mourn his loss, I know he wouldn’t have wanted it to end this way. Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. His love of engaging stories and well-written characters is what got him started on YouTube,” she said.

“The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories about great people, and also to keep the memory of our own superhero alive. We supported each other in everything we wanted to do, and I’m not going to stop now.”
