Oxford man pleads not guilty to child sexual abuse

Robert Trafford, 44, appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday (June 6) charged with two counts of assault on a girl under 13 – namely a girl under 12.

The defendant spoke twice, once to confirm his identity and the second time to plead not guilty to both counts.

He is accused of sexually abusing the girl earlier this year.

Trafford, of Kenilworth Avenue, Oxford, is now due to appear before the same court on May 27. The trial is expected to last four to five days.

The defendant, wearing a grey-blue coat, was allowed to leave the courtroom because he had previously been granted conditional bail.
