Large police presence in Corcoran due to incident involving “barricaded person”

CORCORAN, Minnesota – More than nine hours after the police first arrived, the standoff in the western metropolis is still ongoing on Wednesday evening.

Corcoran police said they responded to a 911 call about an unknown problem near Cherry Lane and Mystique Drive shortly after noon Wednesday. The area was cordoned off.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office did not provide much additional information other than that the incident involved a “barricaded person.”

As of 10 p.m., there is still a large police presence in the area.
