A man from Painted Post, New York, has been identified as the motorcyclist killed Friday on Route 15 south of South Williamsport in Clinton Township, according to state police investigators.

David M. Nangle, 74, died of his injuries in the 10:50 a.m. crash. He was attempting to negotiate a right turn and lost control of his motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet but was found on an embankment. The motorcycle struck the concrete barrier that separates the north and south lanes several times.

He was part of a group heading to a Memorial Day event in the Washington, D.C., area, according to the township’s fire chief, Todd Winder. Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. arrived to examine the body and contact next of kin.
