Police documents describe the attack on a New London mother and aunt who planned to have a baby girl

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) – A New London mother is accused of organizing a group attack on her own daughter.

According to police, the attack on the 13-year-old girl was captured on video. This led to the arrest of ten juveniles and two adults, including the girl’s aunt, 29-year-old Keosha Muriel, and her mother, 32-year-old Idinah Muriel.

Police say the victim’s mother staged the attack because she “wanted to humiliate the female juvenile victim for his disrespect.” She is said to have offered $50 to anyone who wanted to attack her daughter.

“I just don’t understand how a mother could do something like that,” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified.

According to court documents, the attack occurred on April 29 around 6 p.m. in the parking lot of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Store in New London. According to police, it started with Keosha Muriel pulling her niece out of the car. Then she tore the girl’s hair out.

According to police, other videos showed the victim’s boyfriend placing his knee on her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe, while other teens tried to rip off her eyelashes. Keosha Muriel can be seen laughing on a video.

The girl, who is in the care of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, told an investigator that the abuse was “their daily routine” and that “it is what it is,” according to legal documents.
