Child killed in pedestrian accident

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY – A 6-year-old girl died after being hit by a car in the Town of Tonawanda Monday night.

The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Canterbury Lane

According to Tonawanda City Police, the child was struck by a Ford Transit Connect van while attempting to cross Canterbury Lane.

The child was taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The 84-year-old driver of the van is cooperating with the police.
