Ye is a suspect in assault investigation: Los Angeles Police

The Los Angeles Police Department is again investigating rapper Ye for assault.

An unidentified man claims that Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, punched him in the face several times during an altercation in Los Angeles earlier this week, according to multiple news outlets.

A spokesman for West claimed the unidentified man attacked West’s wife, Bianca Censori.

“The attacker didn’t just bump into her. He put his hands under her dress, right on her body, he grabbed her by the waist, he spun her around and then he blew her kisses,” the spokesperson, identified by NBC News as Yeezy employee Milo Yiannopoulos, told multiple news outlets. “She was manhandled and sexually assaulted.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, the conflict occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Chateau Marmont, a hotel in West Hollywood.

According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, the man Ye allegedly attacked did not require medical attention. Ye and Censori left the scene after the incident, the tabloid said.

The Los Angeles Police Department, which did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment, is investigating the report, according to multiple news outlets.

The LAPD had already investigated Ye in 2022 for assault for hitting a man who was taking photos of him. The rapper was ultimately not charged because there was “no reasonable likelihood of conviction,” the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office told People Magazine at the time.

Ye and Censori reportedly married in January 2023, just months after his November 2022 divorce from reality TV star Kim Kardashian. Ye, a 24-time Grammy winner and fashion designer, is also known for his long history of controversial and anti-Semitic statements, including praises of Adolf Hitler.
