Woman killed in house fire in Paulding County – WSB-TV Channel 2

PAULDING COUNTY, Georgia – A Paulding County woman died in a house fire during severe storms Monday morning.

Fire officials said a man called 911 around 10:36 a.m. to report that his Dallas home was on fire and his disabled wife was trapped inside.

When firefighters arrived on scene, thick black smoke was pouring out of the house. Firefighters searched the house and found the 62-year-old woman unconscious in a back bedroom. She was dragged from the house but pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear whether the fire was caused by a storm.

The woman’s identity has not been determined. Both the State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
