Veterans Lead Memorial Day Ruck March

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Many will spend their Memorial Day grilling on the barbecue and gathering with family and friends, but today is meant for so much more. It is a day when so many people honor and remember those who have lost their lives in service to this country.

Several events are taking place today in Houston to commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice and one such event this morning was the Ruck March held at Memorial Park at the Cullen Running Trails Center. More than 40 veterans, spouses, children and civilians will participate in the three-mile grand march. During the march, participants will carry an American flag and conclude with a flag-giving ceremony.
