One dead and one injured in early morning accident in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is dead and another is injured after a crash on I-77 in north Charlotte, a doctor confirmed.

The NCDOT reported the accident around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. Four of five lanes of I-77 North near mile marker 14 are closed due to the accident.

Traffic officials expect the road to be clear by 8 a.m.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
