A Wills Point ISD teacher has resigned: Here’s why

The district said she resigned on Wednesday.

WILLS POINT, Texas — WILLS POINT – A Wills Point ISD spokesman says an employee is no longer employed by the district until an investigation into allegations of online solicitation of minors is completed.

The district notified parents and staff on Monday, but she has not been charged yet. For this reason, WFAA is not releasing the woman’s name at this time.

In the notice to parents and staff, the district said: “(The teacher) is no longer permitted to have contact with Wills Point ISD students, no longer be on Wills Point ISD property, and no longer participate in Wills Point ISD events/extracurricular activities.”

On Wednesday, WFAA received another notice to parents indicating she no longer worked for the school. A district spokeswoman said she resigned.

“I don’t know how I would handle it if it were my child,” said a Wills Point mother. She wanted to remain anonymous because her two sons are high school students.

The district said it is working with Kaufman police to determine an exact timeline for when the event occurred.

“It could have been my children. I don’t know if my children are safe,” the mother said.

The district said it will continue to investigate the allegations and take any appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation. Transparency and student safety are the district’s highest priorities.

The mother said she appreciated the district’s quick action in this situation.

“I hope she gets the worst possible punishment,” she said.

A district spokesman said charges could be filed soon.
