21-year-old killed in crash on I-75 that killed three others was on his way to graduation, friend says – WSB-TV Channel 2

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — A 21-year-old woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash that also killed a couple and their 15-year-old son was on her way to a graduation party, friends said.

Aimee Odom was killed in the crash on the southbound lane in Bartow County around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Kia van was traveling north on I-75 when it left the roadway and crossed the grass median to enter the southbound lanes.

The van collided with a Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota 4Runner, which was also struck by a commercial vehicle. According to police, a Hyundai SUV also struck the rear of the Tahoe.

Odom drove the 4Runner. Three people in the Kia, couple Erin and Dakarai Mason, and their 15-year-old son Brandon Crawford were also killed.

Friends said Channel 2’s Audrey Washington that Odom was on his way to another friend’s house for a graduation party but never made it.

“My husband, my daughter and I left our house and went looking for her and drove to the scene of the accident,” her friend said.

Odom’s friends and family said they were still in disbelief.

“Aimee is just a wonderful person. “A lovely soul, very outgoing and absolutely generous,” the friend said. “This is definitely a big win for our community.”

The crash is still under investigation.
