Family dog ​​dies in Craven County house fire; The cause is still being investigated

An investigation is underway after a family dog ​​was killed in a house fire in Craven County on Monday, May 6.

According to Craven County Emergency Services Director Stanley Kite, the fire broke out at 223 Barrington Way around 8 p.m.

According to Kite, the fire appears to have started in the kitchen, but it was probably an accident.

According to officials, the home sustained moderate damage and the family dog ​​did not survive.

At this time, no other injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
