According to police, two people were arrested during a pro-Palestine protest at Lake Eola

Orlando police said two people were arrested during a protest at Lake Eola Park on Saturday and now face charges of assault on a law enforcement officer.

According to OPD, about 1,200 participants attended a so-called “pro-Palestine” rally at Lake Eola Park.

“While most demonstrated peacefully, we arrested two people who are facing charges of assaulting a police officer. Officers also used a hand-held chemical warfare agent on one group, causing unrest. No injuries were reported,” OPD said in a statement.

The identities of those arrested were not immediately released.

OPD said they continue to monitor other demonstrations reported across the city.
