Ukraine war latest updates: Ukrainian drone and missile attack repelled, Russia says – as civilians flee after Kharkiv attack | World News

In our previous post we told you about a reported Ukrainian attack on the occupied Luhansk region.

Now Russian news agencies quoted officials as saying three people were killed and seven others were injured.

According to Russian state media, the attack sparked a major fire at an oil depot in the region.

“The enemy has opened fire on the peaceful town of Rovenky,” Russian-appointed regional governor Leonid Pasechnik wrote on Telegram.

“As a result of the shelling, the oil depot burst into flames and surrounding houses were damaged.”

Ukrainian bloggers and Telegram channels reported the attack and said the oil depot was hit directly.

It was the second such attack in three days.

On Wednesday, five people were injured in an attack on an oil depot in the regional center of Luhansk.

Mr. Pasechnik reported that at least one of the dead was an employee of the depot.
