Jacksonville residents charged after months-long drug investigation

HAVELOCK, NC (WNCT) – Havelock Police officers have arrested two Jacksonville residents following a months-long drug investigation.

In March, detectives began their investigation into 36-year-old Darnell Amaro and 35-year-old Shirley Bramer. During the course of the investigation and during controlled purchases, officers seized 62 grams of fentanyl.


Amaro was charged with trafficking opium/heroin and illegal possession of Schedule II narcotics with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver. He was taken to the Craven County Jail and held on $500,000 bail.

Bramer has been charged with conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin. Bramer has not yet been taken into custody. Anyone with information on Bramer’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police department at 252-447-3212.
