Two dead in motorcycle accident in west Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Two people are dead after an accident in west Topeka, local officials confirmed to 27 News on Saturday.

Officers on the scene also confirmed that a car and a motorcycle were involved in the accident.

According to a TPD spokeswoman, Topeka police responded to the intersection of SW 10th Avenue and Fairlawn Road around 1 p.m. Investigators are asking the public to avoid driving in the area and to seek alternate routes.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
