A 57-year-old New Jersey woman was among two people killed when a small plane crashed in Maine on Thursday.

Christina Chung of Livington was the passenger in a single-engine Cirrus SR22 that crashed about 12:25 p.m. while on approach to Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton, Maine, officials said.

The violent crash at the end of a runway also killed pilot Michael Leibowitz (71) from Charleston, South Carolina.

The plane took off from Morristown Airport in New Jersey at 10:16 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, the FAA said on Friday.
